From Oregon to Palm Beach Gardens, Christopher’s Kitchen is Simply Delicious
In my quest to find small, intimate and unique restaurants in Palm Beach County, I often find myself looking for a place that offers a truly unique experience with food, ambience and service to make the meal a memorable one.
If you have ever walked into a restaurant, looked around, smelled the delightful aroma and felt a vibe that all will be good, these moments don’t come often. However, as soon as I walked into “Christopher’s Kitchen”, I knew it would be one of those restaurants. Christopher’s Kitchen is simple, modern and a place that makes you feel hip as soon as you enter.
Christopher Slawson, the owner and chef originally from the great state of Oregon, brought his west coast creativity to Florida in 2011. That year, he opened his restaurant “Christopher’s Kitchen” and has not looked back since.
What makes this place unique? It’s what is on the menu.
The food is one of a kind. I mean you might be familiar with some of the dishes, but the menu offers a diverse selection of organic plant based cuisine.
What I mean by this is that chef Christopher delights his customers by using 100 percent vegan ingredients. If you don’t know what a true vegan meals consists of, know that it means that the dish contains no animal products. His secret to a great tasting dish? Christopher uses nuts in a many of his dishes. If you are allergic to nuts, don’t despair, the chef can prepare nut free dished to delight your palette.
Healthy meals don’t have to be funky, they can be prepared in a way that enhances flavor and creates a tasty yet healthy meal.
A few specialty dishes you will find on the lunch menu include; CK tacos, super food salad, guacamole BBQ wrap, and many other delicious dishes; all are organic!
Making this restaurant even more special is that everything on the menu is organic, and was created by the Master Chef Christopher.
If you enjoy an alcoholic beverage with your dinner, Christopher’s kitchen offers a diverse selection of wines and a fair variety of draft beers.
After looking through the menu, I decided to order the CK taco. When my food arrived it appeared and tasted like authentic Mexican food. The hint of sweetness from the vegan taco wrap added to the flavor of the ingredients that were carefully tucked away in the fold.
They say timing is everything, luckily for me as I arrived just in time to enjoy what the dinner menu has to offer. In case your wondering, dinner begins at 5:00 p.m.
After eating one of those tacos, my palette was excited and I had the desire to try some different. I decided to try the highly recommended “Pad Thai”. This dish had a little spice to it, not too much but just enough that you could taste it.
Some other tasty fare you will find on the dinner menu is the veggie burger, veggie fajitas, vegan pizzas, and the NYC roll.
At the end of the night what surprised me most was that the food filled me up, because normally when I eat vegetarian foods I often find myself hungry hours later, fortunately this was not the case. In fact, I felt full and energetic.
Feeling satisfied, I decide to pass on the vegan vanilla ice cream, even though the it was calling my name.
The total amount spent was $26.83 not including tip and tax. Each food item ranged from around $8.00-$18.00.
All the food is affordable, and the quality is what makes the experience well worth it.
Chistopher’s Kitchen is a relaxing place to treat yourself, your family or a date. However, keep in mind that it can get busy during lunch and dinner hours. The restaurant has terrific employees who can handle the rush with ease.
If you go, Christopher’s kitchen is open daily Monday-Saturday from 11:00a.m. to 9:00p.m. and Sunday 11:00a.m. to 3:00p.m.
Christopher has ambitious plans on expanding his business and is anticipating opening a second location in West Palm Beach in late April, 2016.
If you care about the food you put into your body, it’s good to see that health conscious restaurants are thriving. My overall experience was positive and I will certainly be returning to Christopher’s Kitchen.
