I've been kind of a mainstay at the Okaloosa Island pier for years. Occasionally, someone will ask me why I spend so much time out here. I'll usually respond with an eye-rolling quip about being a middle-aged childless divorcee with nothing else to do with my spare time, but in truth it runs significantly deeper than that. I've found this to be perhaps the most beautifully representative avatar of the entire Emerald Coast.
